are licensed to facilitate private adoptions in Ontario. Depending
on their range of service, these agencies can arrange domestic
and/or international adoptions. Prior to registering, adoptive
parents should thoroughly research each agency and find out
about its payment schedule and other policies.

Adoption Agency
and Counselling Service (AACS) provides a variety of services
for birth parents and adoptive parents. AACS is licensed to
arrange domestic adoptions, conduct homestudies for applicants
and supervise adoptoin placements. The agency offers counselling
services for birth parents and adoptive parents before and after
placement. AACS is also licensed for international adoptions
for Bangladesh, Colombia, India, Jamaica, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines,
Thailand, Trinidad, U.S.

Founded in 1995, Adoption Horizaons is
licensed to facilitate adoptions from Russia and Kazakhstan.
As of March 2006, the agency has placed over 460 children from

Adoption Resource and Counselling
Services
This private adoption agency,
run by Jennie Painter, facilitates open adoptions throughout
Ontario. Counselling is available for expectant parents considering
adoption and adoptive families can hire this agency to also
conduct homestudies. ARCS also provides educational workshops.
Adoptionworx Canada
Adoptionworx Canada is located in Toronto
and has an exclusive license in Canada to arrange adoptions
of children born in Albania for Canadian families.

Beginnings Family Services
Beginnings has been operating since 1985
and its main office is located in Hamilton, with pregnancy care
centres in Guelph, Cobourg and Woodstock. This agency's services
include: free pregnancy counselling, pre-natal and post-natal
support, foster care for up to one month, licensed private adoption
services (with a strong emphasis on open
adoption), post-abortion counselling and community referrals.
Beginnings completes all legal work for adoptions. Beginnings
also offers infertility counselling and embryo donation services.

agency licensed to arrange adoptions of Russian children for
Canadian families. Tzivos Hashem Canada has helped over 150
Russian orphans find homes with Canadian families in eight

Children's Bridge is licensed to arrange domestic as well
as international adoptions. A full service agency, Children's
Bridge is licensed to arrange adoptions of children from China,
